Times Tales covers 18 upper multiplication facts (see list below). These are traditionally the core facts that are memorized. We also have "Times Before the Tales" Ebook that covers the lower numbers, but does not use stories like Times Tales does.
Covers the most difficult to memorize times tables - 3x6, 3x7, 3x8, 3x9, 4x6, 4x7, 4x8, 4x9, 6x6,6x7, 6x8, 6x9, 7x7, 7x8, 7x9, 8x8, 8x9, 9x9
We believe that the success of Times Tales is due to focusing the stories only on those basic, upper math facts that most children have to memorize. Many of the first students of our program still remember ALL the Times Tales stories, almost 20 years later.
If we included ALL the facts (ie: 2x3, 4x4) the number of stories that would have to be retained would be 54, instead of 18 which is currently in our program. The founders of Times Tales believe that focusing only on those core upper math facts, that most children have to memorize for quick recall, keeps the program from being "watered down” and increases the success rate for retention for many years to come.
