Times Before the Tales is the first step in the Times Tales® Multiplication Mastery series. This 36 page printable workbook introduces the multiplication tables focusing only on the lower facts (see chart below) which can easily be computed through skip counting and repeated addition. After going through this fun, colorful workbook, the student will be ready to master the upper math facts in the Times Tales® program!

Before the student tackles mastery of the times tables, they must first understand the concept of multiplication and its connection with addition. Without this basic understanding, they may be able to compute multiplication problems (through memorization of the times tables) but will struggle with knowing when to apply this very important math skill. 

Times Before the Tales  introduces the concept of multiplication with a focus on ONLY the lower math facts. Removing the upper times tables within these lessons, allows the student to conceptualize multiplication without the stress of computing the higher facts. Once they get these lower times tables mastered, they can move on with confidence to the upper facts in Times Tales®.
